Chapter Ten - Awareness

All through the weekend of Celeste reading, hanging with friends in Hogsmeade, and just tackling some homework, Celeste couldn't stop thinking about Friday night. How Malfoy had brightened her night...it really kept her thinking about Malfoy in general. The more she thought about him and the more she remembered moments shared between them, the more she was beginning to think about how much she admired him and really felt attracted to him.

She shook her head. She never had a crush on anyone before. She closed her book and took a last swig of her Butterbear and got up, throwing some gallons onto the table as she tightened her scarf around her neck and headed outside. She could feel Fall coming to an end.

Before she knew it, she ran into a body. She fell to the pavement, her book falling out of her hand. "Ugh!" came from her mouth as she surveyed what had just happened.

A brown-gloved hand outstretched to her. She looked up to find it Lupin. She smiled sheepishly and took his hand as she felt his strength tug at her, bringing her feet back to the ground. Lupin generously picked up her book and handed it to her.

"Thank you," Celeste murmured as she took it.

"You're welcome, Celeste. Are you okay? You usually are aware of everything around you," Lupin pointed out, concern in his voice.

Celeste smiled. "I'm fine, thanks. Just have a lot on my mind is all," she replied.

Lupin just nodded his head. "Well I'm on my way to The Three Broomsticks for some Butterbear. Care to join me? Everyone else I've asked has other things to do," Lupin said as he straightened his cape.

Celeste smiled. "Well I just came from there," she said, pointing back at the cabin.

Lupin nodded a few times. "Oh..." he said, a bit of disappointment in his voice.

"But I have nothing else to do, so I won't mind another Butterbear," Celeste thought up.

Lupin's mouth twitched into a smile. "Grand then!" he said as they began to walk towards the Three Broomsticks. They entered and found a table by the fire, ordering two mugs of Butterbear.

"So how are you?" Lupin asked, obviously making conversation.

"I think I have a crush on Draco," Celeste said, ignoring Lupin's question.

Lupin remained silent for a moment. "You think? Well you either do or you don't," Lupin pointed out in a guidance-like tone.

"Well...I've never had a crush on anyone before..."

"You haven't? How old are you...fifteen, am I correct?" Lupin asked.

Celeste nodded her head. "Going on sixteen," she corrected to lighten the moment.

Lupin smiled a bit. "So you're telling me...you're fifteen but never had a crush on anyone before?"

"Yes, Professor," Celeste answered.

Lupin remained silent for another moment. "That's just not natural," he said as he then broke off into a chuckle, causing Celeste to join in until it turned into laughter.

"I know," Celeste said, her laughing beginning to calm down.

By the time they finished their Butterbear and Celeste had figured out that it was true, she did have a crush on Malfoy, they paid for their Butterbear and began walking back to Hogwarts.
I know it took a while to update...but regardless! I have updated! :la: Sorry it's a bit short...got brain damaged with this story a bit. :P
